Hello. I'm hoping you can help me. My name is David and I'm a researcher for the TV show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. It's my job to make sure our show is as accurate as possible. We often rely on professionals to help us achieve this goal. The reason I am posting today is to hopefully get some help with an Afghani dish known as Kalah Chuquki or Kalah Gunjeshk (battered deep fried bird heads). Would you be able to tell us...
A) what type of bird is used here? What's it's name?
B) is the whole bird head edible, meaning you chew the skull after it's been fried? Is it ground up or fried whole?
I'm guessing it's a quite small bird to allow the skull to become edible, but any help here is truly appreciated.
Again, we're hoping to be as accurate as possible.
